The global aging of human population is one of the main challenges and opportunities of the 21st century. Establishing an International Agency for Research on Aging as an entity affiliated to one of the intergovernmental institutions, such as the World Health Organization, can be crucial for promoting international collaboration in gerontology, in particular in a search of effective and safe geroprotectors for humans.

TLDR
Approaches to long-term assays for selection of potent aging delay drugs for humans are discussed, with priority given to methods combining evaluation of carcinogenic safety and life-spanning potential.
Effects of Yoga on Oxidative Stress During Aging
TLDR
Yoga is a process to open up the mind to work at its full potential and it is wanted to see if this is also true for the elderly, whose brain functioning is already depleted.
Successful Aging Among Community-Dwelling Older Adults in Urban Areas of Liaoning Province: The Crucial Effect of Visual Ability
TLDR
Demographic characteristics, health status, individual behavior, and social-psychological factors are all associated with successful aging in China, and visual ability had the most crucial role in successful aging for the older adults, whether males or females.
Role of Oxidative Stress in Pathophysiology of Diseases
TLDR
This chapter is intended to provide an insight about oxidative stress and its association with various oral diseases.
Local Anesthetic Lidocaine and Cancer: Insight Into Tumor Progression and Recurrence
TLDR
This review summarizes the latest evidence that revealed potential clinical benefits of lidocaine in cancer treatment to explore the probable molecular mechanisms and the appropriate dose.
Bitter, Sweet, Salty, Sour and Umami Taste Perception Decreases with Age: Sex-Specific Analysis, Modulation by Genetic Variants and Taste-Preference Associations in 18 to 80 Year-Old Subjects
TLDR
The inverse association between age and perceived taste intensity as well as the additional influence of sex and some genetic polymorphisms give rise to large inter-individual differences in taste perception and taste preferences that should be taken into account in future studies and for applications in precision nutrition for healthy aging.

TLDR
There was consensus that there is sufficient evidence that aging interventions will delay and prevent disease onset for many chronic conditions of adult and old age and their potential to be safe and effective in extending human healthspan.

Geroprotectors: A Unified Concept and Screening Approaches
TLDR
This work reviews the existing classification and characteristics of geroprotectors based on their effect on the survival of a group of individuals or pharmaceutics classes, according to the proposed mechanism of their geroprotsective action or theories of aging and offers a new concept based on the maintenance of homeostatic capacity.
Methods of testing pharmacological drugs effects on aging and life span in mice.
TLDR
The methodology of testing antiaging drugs in laboratory mice is presented and is based on more than 40-year-long authors' experience in the field and includes the selection of mouse strain, sex, age at start of treatment, housing conditions, and statistical treatment of the results.
