Accepted on 17 December 2014 _____________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT One new isoquinoline alkaloid (1), three quercetin glycosides (2-4) and a triol (5) were isolated from the methanol extract of leaves of Annona cherimola. Quercetin glycosides and a triol were first time reported from this plant. The structures were confirmed by H, C, 2D NMR spectroscopy and mass spectral data. Compounds 2-4 are found showing prominent antioxidant activity against…

Flavonols from Annona coriacea Mart. (Annonaceae)
The occurrence of flavonol derivatives as the main flavonoids could confirm that the family represents a basal evolutionary state.
Chemical composition from the leaves of Lindera fragrans Oliv.
Background: One hundred known species belong to the genus Lindera (Lauraceae) and rich in chemical structure types. The branch leaves of Lindera fragrans Oliv. show the special curative effect of
Dose dependency of anti-oxidant activity of quercetin glycosides of Annona cherimola
Investigation is conducted to trace the effect of dose variation on the anti-oxidant activity of the three quercetin glycosides (flavonoids) isolated from the methanol extract of leaves of A.cherimola.
Anti-Infective and Anti-Cancer Properties of the Annona Species: Their Ethnomedicinal Uses, Alkaloid Diversity, and Pharmacological Activities
It is revealed that the alkaloids from Annona genus are rich in structural diversity and pharmacological activities and has potential for developing novel anti-infective and anticancer drugs.
Medicinal and Traditional Uses of Important Annona Fruits-Review Article
Annona species have been a valuable source of anti-infective and anticancer agents. However, only limited evaluations of their alkaloids have been carried out. This review collates and evaluates the

Improved DPPH determination for antioxidant activity spectrophotometric assay
An improved procedure for determination of the residual DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) free radical concentration was proposed taking into account the absorbance of both DPPH free radicals and
