Lycopene Beta-cyclase (LCY-B) is thought to play a critical role in Beta-carotene synthesis in fruit. A full-length cDNA clone encoding Lycopene Beta-cyclase was isolated from muskmelon (Cucumis melo L.) by RT-PCR and RACE.
