Eight bacterial strains were isolated from rhizospheric soil of Morus alba growing at University road Peshawar and screened for five PAHs namely naphthalene, acenaphthene, anthracene, phenanthrene and pyrene. Isolated strains were screened on solid nutrient agar and then on mineral media. Strains sprayed with pyrene produced yellow colour on solid media were due to formation of PAHs degradation metabolites.
