Serum samples of patients suffering from diabetes mellitus were tested for complement-fixing and non complement-fixing islet cell antibodies, antinuclear antibodies and circulating immune complexes. There was no correlation between circulating immune complexes or antinuclear antibodies and secondary diabetic complications.
