This study was designed to test the hypothesis that outpatients with higher electroencephalographic (EEG) Bispectral Index (BIS) values at the end of anesthesia achieve a modified Aldrete score of 10 and satisfy fast-track eligibility criteria more rapidly after ambulatory surgery.
