Abstract We reconsider the relationship between the bound state and the SU (3) rigid rotator approaches to strangeness in the Skyrme model. For non-exotic S =−1 baryons the bound state approach matches for small  m K onto the rigid rotator approach, and the bound state mode turns into the rotator zero-mode. However, for small  m K , we find no S =+1 kaon bound states or resonances in the spectrum, confirming previous work. This suggests that, at least for large  N and small  m K , the exotic… Expand

Do Chiral Soliton Models Predict Pentaquarks
We reconsider the relationship between the bound state and the SU(3) rigid rotator approaches to strangeness in chiral soliton models. For non-exotic $S=-1$ baryons the bound state approach matchesExpand
Exotic baryon resonances in the Skyrme model
We outline how one can understand the Skyrme model from the modern perspective. We review the quantization of the SU(3) rotations of the Skyrmion, leading to the exotic baryons that cannot be made ofExpand
Flavored exotic multibaryons and hypernuclei in topological soliton models
The energies of baryon states with positive strangeness, or anticharm (antibeauty), are estimated in the chiral soliton approach, in the “rigid oscillator” version of the bound-state soliton modelExpand
Comprehensive search for the θ{sup +} pentaquark on the lattice
We study spin 1/2 isoscalar and isovector, even and odd parity candidates for the $\Theta^+(1540)$ pentaquark particle using large scale lattice QCD simulations. Previous lattice works led toExpand
Antikaon angular distributions in the reaction γd → K−Θ+p → K−K+np near the threshold and the parity of the Θ+ Pentaquark
Within the spectator model, we study the reaction γd → K−Θ+p → K−K+np in the threshold energy region. We present the predictions for the exclusive and inclusive K−-meson angular distributions in theExpand
Positive parity pentaquark towers in large N(c) QCD
We construct the complete set of positive parity pentaquarks, which correspond in the quark model to sq{sup N}{sub c}{sup +1} states with one unit of orbital angular momentum L=1. In the large N{subExpand
Spin asymmetries in γN→K¯*Θ+
Abstract The photoproduction processes of the exotic Θ + ( 1540 ) baryon and the K ¯ * meson from the nucleon targets, i.e., γ n → K * − Θ + and γ p → K ¯ * 0 Θ + , are investigated in a hadronicExpand
Pentaquarks: Review on models and solitonic calculations of antidecuplet magnetic moments
Abstract After a quick look at the present status of experiments we briefly review in a first step the ongoing discussions on some of the basic theoretical approaches to pentaquarks: Chiral solitons,Expand
Chiral-soliton predictions for exotic baryons
We re-analyze the predictions of chiral-soliton models for the masses and decay widths of baryons in the exotic antidecuplet of flavour SU(3). The calculated ranges of the chiral-soliton moment ofExpand
Selected problems of baryon spectroscopy: Chiral soliton versus quark models
The inconsistency between the rigid rotator and bound state models at an arbitrary number of colors, the rigid rotator—soft rotator dilemma, and some other problems of baryon spectroscopy areExpand

Radial excitations of low–lying baryons and the Z+ penta–quark
Abstact: Within an extended Skyrme soliton model for baryons the interplay between the collective radial motion and the SU(3)–flavor–rotations is investigated. The coupling between these modes isExpand
Diquarks and exotic spectroscopy.
It is proposed that the recently discovered Theta(+) baryon is a bound state of four quarks and an antiquark, containing two highly correlated ud pairs, and it lies in an near-ideally mixed SU(3)(f) 10;(f) plus sign in circle 8(f). Expand
Evidence for a narrow S = +1 baryon resonance in photoproduction from the neutron.
The gamman-->K(+)K(-)n reaction on 12C has been studied by measuring both K+ and K- at forward angles and a sharp baryon resonance peak was observed, consistent with an antidecuplet of baryons predicted by the chiral soliton model. Expand
Exotic baryon multiplets with a large number of colors
AbstractWe generalize the usual octet, decuplet and exotic antidecuplet and higher baryon multipletsto any number of colours N c . We show that the multiplets fall into a sequence of bands withO(1/NExpand
Observation of an exotic S = +1 baryon in exclusive photoproduction from the deuteron.
In an exclusive measurement of the reaction gammad-->K(+)K(-)pn, a narrow peak that can be attributed to an exotic baryon with strangeness S=+1 is seen in the K(+)n invariant mass spectrum. The peakExpand
Evidence for the positive-strangeness pentaquark Θ+ in photoproduction with the SAPHIR detector at ELSA
Abstract The positive-strangeness baryon resonance Θ + is observed in photoproduction of the nK + K 0 s final state with the SAPHIR detector at the Bonn ELectron Stretcher Accelerator ELSA. It isExpand
Bound-state approach to strangeness in the Skyrme model
Abstract We show that baryons carrying heavy flavors, such as strangeness and charm, can be described by bound states of the corresponding heavy mesons in the background field of the basic SU(2)Expand
The Strangeness Problem: An SU(3) Skyrmion With Vector Mesons
Abstract We study a model for strange baryons (both spin- 1 2 and spin- 3 2 ) in the bound-state approach to strangeness in which the nonet of vector mesons are explicitly incorporated. A specialExpand
