The first BV bands photometric observations and the low-resolution spectrum of the shortest period Am type eclipsing binary TYC 6408-989-1 have been obtained. The stellar atmospheric parameters of the primary star were obtained through the spectral fitting as follows: $T_{eff}=6990\pm117 K$, $\log g=4.25\pm0.26 cm/s^2$, $[Fe/H]=-0.45\pm0.03 dex$. The original spectra obtained by European Southern Observatory (ESO) were processed with IRAF package by us. Based on the ESO blue-violet spectra, TYC…

First Photometric Investigations of the Solar-type Binary FV CVn in Multiple Systems

FV CVn is a solar-type (G7) eclipsing binary whose analysis has so far been ignored. We observed it from 2014 January to 2018 May. The first photometric and orbital period investigation are presented

Multi-color light curves and orbital period research of eclipsing binary V1073 Cyg

New multi-color BV RcIc photometric observations are presented for the W UMa type eclipsing binary V1073 Cyg. The multi-color light curve analysis with the Wilson-Devinney procedure yielded the

A CCD PHOTOMETRIC STUDY OF THE CONTACT BINARY STAR GSC 03526-01995

We present the first two sets of complete light curves in the R and I bands observed in 2011 and 2012 photometrically for the contact binary GSC 03526-01995. The asymmetric light curves are analyzed

Photometric investigation of the eclipsing binary TX Herculis observed by LUT

The lander of China’s Chang’E-3 spacecraft is equippedwith a 15-cmtelescope that is very useful for monitoring celestial objects in the ultraviolet (UV) band (245–340 nm). The Lunar-based Ultraviolet

Absolute Properties of the Main-Sequence Eclipsing Binary Star V885 Cygni

We present 4179 differential observations in the V filter measured by a robotic telescope, as well as 25 pairs of radial velocities from high-resolution spectroscopic observations, of the detached,

Absolute dimensions of detached eclipsing binaries – III. The metallic-lined system YZ Cassiopeiae

The bright binary system YZ Cassiopeiae is a remarkable laboratory for studying the Am phenomenon. It consists of a metallic-lined A2 star and an F2 dwarf on a circular orbit, which undergo total and

THE PHOTOMETRIC STUDY OF A NEGLECTED NEAR CONTACT BINARY: BS VULPECULAE

We present a detailed study of the close eclipsing binary BS Vulpeculae. Although it is relatively bright (V: 10.9–11.6 mag) and belongs to short-periodic variable stars (P = 0.48 days), it is rather

Absolute Dimensions of Eclipsing Binaries. XXIII. The F-Type System EI Cephei*

We report new radial velocity measurements made with the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics Digital Speedometers of the F-type double-lined eclipsing binary EI Cep (P = 8.4 days), in which

ABSOLUTE DIMENSIONS OF THE METALLIC-LINE ECLIPSING BINARY V501 MONOCEROTIS

We report extensive high-resolution spectroscopic observations and V-band differential photometry of the slightly eccentric 7.02 day detached eclipsing binary V501 Mon (A6m+F0), which we use to

Ternarity, Activity, and Evolutionary State of the W UMa-Type Binary UX Eridani

Charge-coupled device photometric observations of the W UMa-type binary star UX Eridani are presented. Comparing the B light curve with that obtained by Binnendijk in 1964-1965, the variation of the
