Pathways for homogeneous thermal decomposition of (C2H5)3Ga (TEGa) were followed using in situ Raman spectroscopy measurements in an up-flow, cold-wall CVD reactor. The results of Density Functional Theory (DFT) calculations were used to assign measured Raman bands to the decomposition products (Et)3Ga, (DEGa)2, (Et)GaH–Ga(Et)2 and (Et)GaH–GaH2. The results of this study are consistent with both –hydride elimination and homolysis pathways active. DFT calculations using the B3LYP/LanL2DZ model… Expand

Experimental and Computational Studies of the Homogeneous Thermal Decomposition of the Tungsten Dimethylhydrazido Complexes Cl4(RCN)W(NNMe2)
The thermal decomposition pathways of the tungsten dimethylhydrazido complexes Cl4(RCN)W(NNMe2) (1a: R=CH3; 1b: R=Ph), precursors for single source deposition of WNxCy, were investigated using aExpand

β-Hydrogen Elimination Mechanism in the Absence of Low-Lying Acceptor Orbitals in EH2(t-C4H9) (E = N-Bi).
The β-hydrogen elimination reactions of group 15 alkyl compounds were investigated and compared to the group 13 example of GaH2(t-C4H9), enabling a rationale for ligand design for precursors involved in chemical vapor-phase deposition processes because a good ligand needs to stabilize the positive charge at Cα. Density Functional Theory Study of the Gas Phase and Surface Reaction Kinetics for the MOVPE Growth of GaAs1-yBiy.
The calculated thermochemical and kinetic val-ues provide initial parameters for the development of a microkinetic model of GaAs1-yBiy deposition, which indicates that the pyrolysis products AsH2 and Bi(CH3)2 are the principle sources for the deposition of their respective metallic elements. Expand
