The magnetoresistance coefficient MR = (R(H) -R(O))/R(O) (with R(H) as the field dependent resistance) of granular materials is often found to be isotropic and negative. This effect is called giant magnetic resistance GMR [l]. On the other hand, for an unsymmetric trilayer geometry a positive MR called inverse GMR has been reported in Refs. 2 and 3.
