The clinical and pathologic features of four cases of intussusception of the appendix are reported and the literature is reviewed. All patients had vague abdominal symptoms. The diagnosis of intussusception of the appendix was not made preoperatively in any of these cases. All four patients were females who ranged from 37 to 70 years of age (mean age, 46 years).
