A RELATIVELY RECENT EXCHANGE on the Exlibris listserv inspired me to write this paper. Julia Walworth, Fellow Librarian at Merton College, University of Oxford, asked about other librarians’ experiences in introducing special collections—and rare books in particular—to undergraduate students.
