Background. The pathogenesis of frequent intrahepatic recurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) after surgical resection or local ablation therapy remains uncertain. Risks and patterns of intrahepatic distant recurrence (IDR) of a single, primary HCC lesion after radiofrequency (RF) ablation were examined. Methods.
