BACKGROUND Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) is a serious and potentially fatal complication of ovarian stimulation, which affects 1% to 14% of all in vitro fertilisation (IVF) or intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) cycles.
