Lactobacillus rhamnosus is often used in milk products because of its technological properties, however it is supposed to be related to human infections as well. Therefore, 23 L. rhamnosus strains, including the type strain, were investigated. Nine strains resulted from biotechnological sources, 14 isolates had a clinical background, 13 came from a swedish culture collection.
