Ganglion cysts of the knee are extremely uncommon. They usually cause non-specific symptoms and do not produce classical signs. Advances in imaging techniques as well as widespread use of arthroscopy have made detection of these cysts easier, and most can be treated arthroscopically. Ganglion cysts arising within the infrapatellar fat pad are even more uncommon.
