Intra-Paradigmatic Contrast in Arabic Verbal Morphology

Arabic verbs exhibit a morphologically conditioned stem ablaut which has been attributed in the past to an apophonic scale (Guerssel and Lowenstamm 1996; Ségéral 1997).
