The applicability of Artificial Neural Networks to breast cancer detection is explored in this work. A simplified model of the breast containing a tumor is used and the scattered electromagnetic waves are used to train and test a series of networks with noise introduced to into the input signal. Two methods of interpreting the output signal of the network are explored and the results presented.
