The surface temperature on BN dummy crystals was measured under the same conditions as those for the actual liquid-encapsulated Czochralski (LEC) growth of GaAs single crystal. The solid-liquid interface shapes in the computation models were determined by the striations in the GaAs single crystal. Temperature and stress distributions inside the crystals were analyzed by the finite element method (FEM) using these data as the boundary conditions.
