Bullous pemphigoid (BP) is a chronic, autoimmune, blistering skin disease, characterized by the deposition of immunoglobulins and/or complement at the basement membrane zone (BMZ) [1]. The sera of the majority of the patients has an antibody of the IgG class against the BMZ of the skin [2].
