This paper considers the interference cancellation (IC) problem in multi-user wireless relay networks. First, it is shown that using distributed space-time coding (DSTC), the multiple antenna IC scheme previously proposed for systems with direct transmissions can be applied to relay networks. The ML decoding after full IC can be performed symbol by symbol. Then, by allowing IC at relays, a new degree of freedom in relay network design is discovered.
