This paper introduced web-based interactive Linked Micromap (LM) plots, a set of dynamic visualization methods that allows readers to interactively select variables and modify the different views to help reveal relationships among the study units, and provides a new approach to communicating spatially indexed statistical summaries over the Internet.

Interactive Animated Visualizations of Breast, Ovarian Cancer and Other Health Indicator Data Using Weave, an Interactive Web -- based Analysis and Visualization Environment

This study looked at breast and ovarian cancer distributions across all states and counties in the United States over time and described briefly Weave, the Web -- based Analysis and Visualization Environment, and used it to explore these cancers and present interactive animated visualizations of family hereditary patterns and genetic distributions.

Visualization and interpretation of cancer data using linked micromap plots

The age-standardized rate has positive correlate with thyroid and breast cancer, but the rate has negative correlativity with smoking and drinking, and the regions with high age- standardized rate are located in southwest and the areas of high population density while the standardized mortality ratio is higher in southwestern and northeast where there are lots of rural areas.

Geo-social visual analytics

This paper argues that the concepts of nearness and relationship in terms of a possible extension of the First Law of Geography are a matter of both geographical and social network distance, relationship, and interac- tion.

Fast Hardware-Accelerated Volume Rendering of CT Scans

3D volumes are constructed from CT scans and volume rendering is used to display anatomical structures via algorithms founded on improved ray casting and 2D textures to achieve interactive rendering rates.

Detection of Landmarks for Clustering of Online-Game Players

A method for automatically detecting landmarks from player trails based on weighted entropy of the distribution of visiting players and how to visualize player clusters using multidimensional scaling and prefuse are proposed.

Interactive Linked Micromap Plots And Dynamically Conditioned Choropleth Maps

This paper introduces interactive extensions to two recently developed templates for displaying geospatially-indexed estimates. The first template, linked micromap plots, links small generalized maps

Interactive Tables And Maps - A Glance At EPA's Cumulative Exposure Project Web Page

The main intention of this Web page is to provide easy access to EPA's hazardous air pollutant (HAP) data for 1990 by allowing the user to easily move through the data set.

Using Linked Micromap Plots to Characterize Omernik Ecoregions

The paper introduces linked micromap (LM) plots for presenting environmental summaries and shows LM plots for Omernik Level II Ecoregions, a new visualization methodology useful in the data and knowledge based pattern representation and knowledge discovery process.

Two new templates for epidemiology applications: linked micromap plots and conditioned choropleth maps.

This paper describes two interactive templates for representing spatially indexed estimates that use a matrix layout of small panels and describes the cognitive considerations that motivate the layouts and representation details.

Linked Micromap Plots: Named and Described

A new template for the display of spatially indexed statistical summaries is described and given a name: linked micromap plots (LM plots).

Designing linked micromap plots for states with many counties

The linked micromap template was specifically developed to represent spatially indexed statistical summaries, and the new designs are suitable for presenting sophisticated summaries.

Web-Based Access and Visualization of Hazardous Air Pollutants

This paper reports on a project to provide Web-based access to the US Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) extensive model-based summaries of hazardous air pollutants (HAPs). As part of EPA’s

Emphasizing Statistical Summaries and Showing Spatial Context with Micromaps

To keep this example simple, the authors’ll just have one fill-in-the-blank field, and a set of three checkboxes, but any of the more complex form elements can be easily accommodated with this scheme.

VISUALIZING THE SPREAD OF WEST NILE VIRUS

This paper visualize the spread and occurrence of the West Nile Virus and graphically relate these to various climatic and environmental conditions and part of the data that is being presented originates from remote sensing satellites as well as from medical centers.
