Abstract We consider the interactions of strings on T-folds from the world-sheet point of view which are exact in α′. As a concrete example, we take a model where the internal torus at the SO(8) enhancement point is twisted by T-duality (T-folded), and compute the scattering amplitudes of a class of massless strings. The four-point amplitudes involving both twisted and untwisted strings are obtained in a closed form in terms of the hyper- geometric function. By their factorization, the three…

Lie algebra lattices and strings on T-folds

A bstractWe study the world-sheet conformal field theories for T-folds systematically based on the Lie algebra lattices representing the momenta of strings. The fixed point condition required for the

D-branes in T-fold conformal field theory

We investigate boundary dynamics of orbifold conformal field theory involving T-duality twists. Such models typically appear in contexts of non-geometric string compactifications that are called

Doubled geometry and T-folds

The doubled formulation of string theory, which is T-duality covariant and enlarges spacetime with extra coordinates conjugate to winding number, is reformulated and its geometric and topological

Generalised T-duality and non-geometric backgrounds

We undertake a systematic analysis of non-geometric backgrounds in string theory by seeking stringy liftings of a class of gauged supergravity theories. In addition to conventional flux

Duality Symmetric String and M-Theory

A worldsheet extension of O(d,d;Z)

We study superconformal interfaces between N=(1,1) supersymmetric sigma models on tori, which preserve a u(1)^{2d} current algebra. Their fusion is non-singular and, using parallel transport on CFT

An uplifting discussion of T-duality

A bstractIt is well known that string theory has a T-duality symmetry relating circle compactifications of large and small radius. This symmetry plays a foundational role in string theory. We note

Defects, super-Poincaré line bundle and fermionic T-duality

A bstractTopological defects are interfaces joining two conformal field theories, for which the energy momentum tensor is continuous across the interface. A class of the topological defects is
