The interactions of biomass components (hemicellulose, cellulose, and lignin) during co-pyrolysis were investigated in a thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA) as well as a self-designed Macro-TGA with higher heating rate and larger amount of sample. The overlap ratio (OR) was used to evaluate the interaction of biomass components quantitatively. In TGA, the pyrolysis of xylan was not significantly affected by cellulose, whereas the pyrolysis of cellulose was markedly influenced by xylan. The…
Interaction characteristics and mechanism in the fast co-pyrolysis of cellulose and lignin model compounds
During biomass fast pyrolysis process, the interactions among biomass components will affect the pyrolytic products distribution. In this study, d-glucose and a β-O-4 type lignin model dimer (LMD,
Combustion characteristics of typical model components in solid waste on a macro-TGA
The combustion characteristics of nine typical model components (PE, PET, PVC, PS, cellulose, hemicellulose, lignin, pectin and starch) in municipal solid waste were experimentally investigated on a
Combustible Solid Waste Thermochemical Conversion: A Study of Interactions and Influence Factors
The treatment of combustible solid waste (CSW) is a severe problem around the world. Thermochemical conversion is an effective waste-to-energy (WTE) technology. Based on the cluster analysis of CSW
Effects of organic and inorganic metal salts on thermogravimetric pyrolysis of biomass components
Thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA) was employed to elucidate the catalytic effects of organic and inorganic metal salts (K2CO3, KAc, Na2CO3 and NaAc) on the pyrolysis of three biomass components
