    The interaction of the la,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 receptor with RNA and synthetic polynucleotides has been examined by using receptor from rachitic chicken intestine. Total intestinal RNA inhibited the binding of receptor to calf thymus DNA-cellulose with an efficiency equivalent to single-stranded DNA. A comparison of the inhibitory activity of several polyribonucleotides gave the following order of activities: poly(I) = poly(G) 2 double-stranded DNA > singlestranded DNA = poly(U).
