Abstract The interaction of cyclomaltohexaose ( a -cyclodextrin, a CD) with alkyl glycosides (AG) in solution in D 2 O was investigated by n.m.r. spectroscopy. a CD induced significant shifts of 1 H and 13 C signals (especially for the alkyl chain and the anomeric center) of octyl and dodecyl a - and β- d -glucopyranoside, dodecyl β-maltoside, and octadecyl β- d -glucopyranoside.
