Type B streptogramins, such as virginiamycin S (VS), are cyclic hexadepsipeptides, inhibiting protein synthesis in prokaryotes. L-Thr connects a 3-hydroxypicolinyl residue (3-OH-Pic) to the peptide lactone ring.
