Interaction between Hg(II) and dissolved organic matter (DOM) collected from surface water samples of the Florida Everglades was studied using different fluorescence spectroscopic methods. Complexation between Hg(II) and DOM leached from mangrove leaves, sawgrass, and periphyton was investigated.
