In standard cosmologies, dark energy interacts only gravitationally with dark matter. An extension to this picture is interacting quintessence (IQ) model, where scalar field coupled directly to cold dark matter. The percentage deviation is studied in IQ model wrt $\Lambda$CDM for varied values of interacting parameter W. We investigated the effect of interaction on matter, Kaiser and galaxy power spectrums. Deviation in power spectrum increases with interaction on both large and small scales…

Deriving the dark matter-dark energy interaction term in the continuity equation from the Boltzmann equation

Dark energy and dark matter are two of the biggest mysteries of modern cosmology, and our understanding of their fundamental nature is incomplete. Many parametrizations of couplings between the two

Cosmology with axionic-quintessence coupled with dark matter

We study the possibility of explaining the late time acceleration with an axion field which is coupled with the dark matter sector of the energy budget of the Universe. The axion field arises from

The growth of structure in interacting dark energy models

If dark energy interacts with dark matter, there is a change in the background evolution of the universe, since the dark matter density no longer evolves as a−3. In addition, the non-gravitational

Superacceleration as the signature of a dark sector interaction

We show that an interaction between dark matter and dark energy generically results in an effective dark-energy equation of state of w<-1. This arises because the interaction alters the redshift

Probing the imprint of interacting dark energy on very large scales

The observed galaxy power spectrum acquires relativistic corrections from light-cone effects, and these corrections grow on very large scales. Future galaxy surveys in optical, infrared and radio

Interacting dark energy: constraints and degeneracies

Institute of Theoretical Astrophysics, University of Oslo, N-0315 Oslo, Norway(Dated: October 14, 2011)In standard cosmologies, dark energy interacts only gravitationally with dark matter. Therecould

Large-scale instability in interacting dark energy and dark matter fluids

If dark energy interacts with dark matter, this gives a new approach to the coincidence problem. But interacting dark energy models can suffer from pathologies. We consider the case where the dark

Velocities as a probe of dark sector interactions

Dark energy in General Relativity is typically non-interacting with other matter. However, it is possible that the dark energy interacts with the dark matter, and in this case, the dark matter can

Quintessence cosmologies with a growing matter component

We investigate coupled quintessence cosmologies with a matter consisting of particles with an increasing mass. While negligible in early cosmology, the appearance of a growing matter component has

Observational constraints on an interacting dark energy model

We use observations of cosmic microwave background (CMB) anisotropies, supernova luminosities and the baryon acoustic oscillation signal in the galaxy distribution to constrain the cosmological

Interacting quintessence from a variational approach. I. Algebraic couplings

We present a new approach to build models of quintessence interacting with dark or baryonic matter. We use a variational approach for relativistic fluids to realize an effective description of matter
