ABSTRACT. Interactive relationships between Phthiraptera (Insecta) and birds (Emberizidae) of the Atlantic Forest, Pernambuco State, Brazil. This study aimed to identify the Phthiraptera of wild birds (Emberizidae) of the Atlantic Forest, as well as to evaluate some aspects of the host-environment interaction. A total of 94 birds in 9 species were captured, between August 1996-July 1997.
