After a definition of the receptor mosaic (RM, high order heteromer or homomer) concept, this study analyzes some relevant theoretical aspects related to receptor-receptor interactions (RRIs). In particular, the possible influence of the plasma membrane microdomain on RM integrative functions are discussed.
