The carbohydrate response element binding protein (ChREBP) has been recognized as a key controller of hepatic lipogenesis. Whereas the function of ChREBP has been extensively investigated, mechanisms underlying its transcription remain largely unknown, although ChREBP production is elevated in a hyperinsulinemic mouse model.
