STUDY DESIGN In vitro investigation of vertebral endplate chondrocyte apoptosis. OBJECTIVES To determine whether Fas antibody caused apoptosis in endplate chondrocytes, and whether insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) inhibited this effect.
