The complex of insect inhabitants of old larval galleries of Saperda populnea (L.) (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) was studied during the period 2000–2003 in 18 localities in Bulgaria. As a result, 32 insect species were reared from old S. populnea galls: Metopoplax origani (Kolenati) (Heteroptera: Lygaeidae), Malachius sp. (Coleoptera: Malachiidae), Agrilus pratensis pratensis (Ratzeburg) (Coleoptera: Buprestidae), Xylocleptes bispinus (Duftschmidt) (Coleoptera: Scolytidae), Crossocerus cetratus… Expand

A checklist and areography of longhorn beetles (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) in Rila Mountain
TLDR
This study records two new records for Rila Mt. (Stenurellanigranigra and Xylosteusspinolae) and new localities or additional information for 24 cerambycid taxa were reported. Expand
On Bulgarian sawflies, including a new species of Empria (Hymenoptera, Symphyta)
TLDR
The new Bulgarian records of Hoplocampacantoti Chevin, 1986 and Neomessasteusloffi (Konow, 1892) represent large extensions in their recorded ranges, previously comprising respectively only northern France, and north-eastern Germany. Expand
Antakya ve çevresinde Biber galsineği, Asphondylia capsici Barnes (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae)'nin zarar durumu ve parazitoitleri
TLDR
Three larval parasitoid species of the pest were determined as Eurytoma dentata Mayr 1878, Pseudocatoloccus nitescens Walker 1834 and Eupelmus urozonus Dalman. Expand
Faunistic, ecological, biogeographical and phylogenetic aspects of Coleoptera as gall-inducers and associates in plant galls in the Orient and eastern Palearctic
TLDR
An attempt has been made to clarify the faunistics of coleopteran gall-inducers, interactions of Coleoptera with other gall-inducing arthropods, and their usefulness in terms of biological control and evolution, concentrating on select species from the Orient and eastern Palearctic fauna. Expand
Bats use larval galleries of the endangered beetle Cerambyx cerdo as hibernation sites
TLDR
The results indicate that bats frequently use these specific roots, which emphasises the importance of this beetle species as an ecosystem engineer and the protection of C. cerdo can be an important component of the conservation of tree-dwelling bats. Expand
Abundance of syrphid larvae in willow plantations
TLDR
This study shows that a higher diversity within the enemy-complex may have negative effects on the biological control of pests and that predators within the same guild are susceptible to predation in certain developmental stages. Expand
Phylogenetic relationships and taxonomic ranking of pipizine flower flies (Diptera: Syrphidae) with implications for the evolution of aphidophagy
TLDR
The homogeneous morphology of the Pipizini clade in combination with their unique combination of characters among the Syrphidae suggest a change of rank to subfamily, including the subfamily Pipizinae stat. Expand
Chloropidae (Diptera) of Turkey with descriptions of new species and new records
A list of Chloropidae from Turkey is provided, containing 64 species from 31 genera and 4 subfamilies. Three species are described as new. Two additional species were only identified to genus level.Expand
Chloropidae (Diptera) of Turkey with descriptions of new species and new records
TLDR
A list of Chloropidae from Turkey is provided, containing 64 species from 31 genera and 4 subfamilies, and most species (40) are recorded from Turkey for the first time. Expand
