Background: FLT3 (Fms-like tyrosine kinase 3) belongs to the class III receptor tyrosine kinase that is involved in hematopoietic progenitor cell proliferation. It is a prognostic marker for acute myeloblastic leukemia (AML). To date, chemotherapy has been the most frequently used treatment for leukemia.
