The heartwood of Dalbergia odorifera T. Chen (Leguminosae) is an important source of traditional Korean and Chinese medicines. 9-Hydroxy-6,7-dimethoxydalbergiquinol (HDDQ), a compound isolated from D. odorifera, has various biological activities.
