Inhibition of volatile fatty acids (VFA), namely acetate, butyrate, and propionate, on the activity of acetoclastic methanogens within a full-scale upflow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB) reactor was investigated using specific methanogenic activity (SMA) test.
