Phase conjugation with stimulated Brillouin scattering can be used to correct wavefront aberrations in high-power laser systems. Here, we consider such process with cylindrical vector lasers beams. By using a vectorial approach and a modal decomposition, we obtain a differential matrix equation that enables the calculation of the structure of Stokes vector eigenmodes and their Brillouin gain. The emphasis is put on the mode with the largest gain, which contributes the most to the Stokes beam…

Real-Time Phase Conjugation of Vector Vortex Beams
Vector vortex beams have played a fundamental role in the better understanding of coherence and polarization. They are described by spatially inhomogeneous polarization states, which present a rich
Conjugation and transformation of the wave front by stimulated Brillouin scattering of vortex Laguerre — Gaussian laser modes
We study experimentally stimulated Brilluoin scattering (SBS) of vortex laser beams, namely, the LG11 and LG01 Laguerre -Gaussian modes. The wave front transformation is experimentally demonstrated
Higher-order Poincaré sphere, stokes parameters, and the angular momentum of light.
A higher-order Poincaré sphere and Stokes parameter representation of the higher-order states of polarization of vector vortex beams that includes radial and azimuthal polarized cylindrical vector
We report on a detailed investigation of the process of SBS with focused Gaussian beams via a three-dimensional simulation of the SBS process that includes spontaneous noise. We show that spontaneous
Generation of strong cylindrical vector pulses via stimulated Brillouin amplification
Light with transverse polarization structures, such as radial and azimuthal polarization, enables and revives lots of applications based on a light-matter interaction due to its unique focal
Propagation of vector vortex beams through a turbulent atmosphere.
The existence of the vectorial vortex can be identified with longer propagation distance than the scalar vortex even with vanishing characteristic vortex structure in the irradiance images, indicating the potential advantages of using a vector vortex beam to mitigate atmospheric effects and enable a more robust free space communication channel with longer link distance.
Brillouin-enhanced four-wave-mixing vector phase-conjugate mirror with beam-combining capability.
A new geometry is developed for Brillouin-enhanced four-wave mixing that performs vector phase conjugation to correct for both wave-front and polarization distortions and shows a reduction in the depolarization losses.
Vectorial nonlinear optics: Type-II second-harmonic generation driven by spin-orbit-coupled fields
Vectorial nonlinear optics refers to the investigation of optical processes whose nonlinear polarization (NP) experiences spin-orbit coupling (SOC) interactions, where, in general, the light field
Vector phase conjugation for beam combining in a pulsed Nd:YAG laser system
Phase- and polarization conjugation has been realized by phase locking and phase conjugating two linearly polarized components of a depolarized beam by means of stimulated Brillouin scattering in
