Procaterol hydrochloride is a relatively new beta 2-selective agonist with a unique carbostyril nucleus. In this study, procaterol dose-dependently inhibited IFN-gamma production of peripheral blood mononuclear cells stimulated with ovalbumin in patients with hen's egg-sensitive atopic dermatitis, without inhibition of proliferative responses of peripheral blood mononuclear cells. Our results suggest that procaterol also has an effect as an immunomodulator, in addition to its effect as a beta 2…
Synergistic Effect of Theophylline and Procaterol On Interleukin-5-Induced Degranulation from Human Eosinophils
TLDR
It is suggested that a combination of low-dose theophylline and procaterol exhibits antiinflammatory effects in asthma by inhibiting eosinophil-effector functions.

Food allergy in children.
TLDR
The medical care of a food allergic child requires concurrent dietary advice and management, risk avoidance and emergency management plans, and reintroduction of foods occurs when the risk profile is appropriate based mainly on the predictive information obtained by SPTs and specific IgE levels.
