In vitro incubation of Listeria monocytogenes immune spleen cells in the presence of the catecholamines epinephrine or norepinephrine inhibited the gamma interferon (IFN-gamma) synthesis induced by the mitogen PHA, in a manner that appeared to be concentration dependent.
