Abstract In this study we examined the effects of A23187 (a calcium ionophore) and 12- O -tetradecanoyl phorbol-13-acetate, a known activator of protein kinase C, on progesterone production. Granulosa cells obtained from pregnant mare serum gonadotropin-primed rats were maintained in primary culture.
