Progesterone (P) to the ventromedial hypothalamus (VMH) and the ventral tegmental area (VTA) of ovariectomized (OVX), estradiol benzoate (EB)-primed rats and hamsters produces female sexual behavior similar to that seen in proestrous, receptive rodents.
