  title={Inheritance of Resistance to Zucchini Yellow Fleck Virus in Cucumis sativus L.},
  author={F. Gilbert-Albertini and M. Pitrat and H. Lecoq},
Zucchini yellow fleck virus (ZYFV) is a potyvirus that occurs in cucurbits grown in some Mediterranean countries. «Marketer» cucumber responded to ZYFV infection with a severe mosaic, stunting, and leaf and fruit deformation. A high level of resistance to this virus was found in a single plant selection of «Taichung Mou Gua» (TMG) cucumber from Taiwan. In Fzand backcross populations involving TMG׫Marketer», the resistance to ZYFV was determined to be conferred by a single recessive gene, to… Expand

Multiple alleles for zucchini yellow mosaic virus resistance at the zym locus in cucumber
Observations suggest that the gene(s) conferring resistance to ZYMV, WMV, and MWMV may be part of a gene cluster for potyvirus resistance in cucumber. Expand
Inheritance of resistance to the Moroccan watermelon mosaic virus in the cucumber line TMG-1 and cosegregation with zucchini yellow mosaic virus resistance
It is demonstrated that TMG-1 possesses resistance to the Moroccan watermelon mosaic virus (MWMV), a distinct member of the potyvirus group. Expand
Linkage Analysis of Potyvirus Resistance Alleles in Cucumber
Linkages were detected between resistance to WMV and ZYMV, between the cotyledon-expressed resistance toWMV (wmv-2) and the F locus for gynoecious sex expression (linkage group I), and between resistances to PRSV-W (Prsv-W) and ZyMV (zym) and bitterfree cotYledon (bi; linkage group I). Expand
A genetic map of cucumber composed of RAPDs, RFLPs, AFLPs, and loci conditioning resistance to papaya ringspot and zucchini yellow mosaic viruses.
To select more efficiently for virus resistances, molecular markers tightly linked to PRSV-W and ZYMV resistances in cucumber were identified and a 353-point map of cucumber was generated, delineating 12 linkage groups at LOD 3.5. Expand
Natural Resistances to Viruses in Cucurbits
Efforts are underway to use genome mapping and functional genomics to advance toward a genomic-assisted breeding against viral diseases in cucurbits. Expand
Characterization of sources of resistance to the watermelon strain of Papaya ringspot virus in cucumber: allelism and co-segregation with other potyvirus resistances
The co- segregation of resistances to PRSV-W, ZYMV, WMV and MWMV in ’TMG-1’ and ’Surinam’ suggest that multiple potyvirus resistance in cucumber may be due to different alleles of a single potyVirus resistance gene with differing viral specificities, or that the multiple resistances are conferred by a tightly linked cluster of resistance genes. The origin and the diversity of the main vegetables are presented with the sources of virus resistance, and very few original sources of resistance against viruses have been described in local landraces from the Mediterranean area. Expand
Advances in understanding recessive resistance to plant viruses.
The purpose of this paper is to review the available information on the characterization of loss-of-susceptibility mutants in experimental hosts, natural recessive resistances and virus avirulence factors, and to comment on possible implications for the design of new sources of sustainable virus resistance. Effects of Nutrient Level on Maternal Choice and Siring Success in Cucumis sativus (Cucurbitaceae)
This paper addresses the question of weather nutrient availability for the female affects the outcome of pollen competition between two pollen donor cultivars of Cucumis sativus by carrying out controlled crosses of female plants grown at three different nutrient levels and shows that female effects on siring ability vary with nutrient level. Occurrence of cowpea aphid-borne mosaic virus and prospects of improving resistance in local cowpea landraces in Uganda.
This document summarizes current capabilities, research and operational priorities, and plans for further studies that were established at the 2015 USGS workshop on quantitative hazard assessments of earthquake-triggered landsliding and liquefaction in the Central American region. Expand

Sources of resistance to viruses in the Potyviridae.
