Horehound plants were grown under 3 levels of aupplemental photosynthetic photon flux (PPF) (0, 50, and 100 μmol m-2s-1) and 2 irrigation regimes (continuous and intermittent) to determine if supplemental light and irrigation with constant fertilization could be used to optimize productivity. Increasing the PPF from 0 to 100 μmol m-2s-1 (HPS lamps) led to significant linear, curvilinear, and quadratic effects of nitrogen, boron, and manganese, respectively, in aerial parts.
