Abstract This paper presents the results of quantum-chemical and spectral studies on studying fluorescence of binuclear zinc (II) – bis (dipyrrinate)s [Zn 2 L 2 ] in non-polar and polar environments and their binary mixtures. We studied the efficiency of the fluorescence quenching of fluorophores depending on of isomerism forming their bis (dipyrrine) ligands and an electron-donating ability of the solvent.
