Vitamin C exerts several functions on skin as collagen synthesis, depigmentant and antioxidant activity. Vitamin C is unstable in the presence of oxygen, luminosity, humidity, high temperatures and heavy metals, which presents a significant challenge to the development of cosmetic formulations.
