Sucrose hydrolysis reaction, catalysed by invertase under microwave irradiation was carried out in aqueous, isopropanol + water and polyethylene glycol + water system. The effect of conventional and microwave heating on the rate of hydrolysis was studied under a range of physical exposure conditions. The catalytic activity of invertase in aqueous and organic solvents were measured at different temperatures. Enhanced reaction rate and yield in organic media was observed over aqueous media using…

Isolation and Purification of Xanthine Oxidase from Discarded Fish Liver Notopterous kapirat: An Easy Source of Enzyme
  • Biology
  • 2018
TLDR
It is shown that fish liver is an easily available and cheap source of xanthine oxidase, the principal element of the demonstrative unit for estimation of superoxide dismutase (SOD), which is very sensitive in the measurement of SOD activity in blood, serum and plasma.
