Osteoarthritis (OA) is a slowly progressive degenerative joint disease characterized by joint space narrowing, osteophyte formation, and subchondral sclerosis. Despite extensive efforts, actual breakthroughs in the identification of biochemical biomarkers of OA have been limited.
