This article investigates the influence of electrical steel sheet hysteresis and eddy current losses as well as the related lamination thickness on total electric energy consumption for accumulated load points present in machine operation for standardized driving cycles. The considered machine geometry's main dimensions are based on the rotor and stator geometry of the 2010 Toyota Prius Motor/Generator MG2 originally used in a hybrid electric vehicle application (HEV).
