The inflammatory cytokines interleukin 1 beta (IL-1 beta) interleukin 6 (IL-6), tumour necrosis factor alpha (TNF alpha) and the anti-inflammatory peptide--the interleukin 1 (IL-1) receptor antagonist--were measured in the plasma of children with juvenile chronic arthritis (JCA).
